Golden Pharmacies and Doomed Fools

Lately the focus of my drawing and thinking has revolved around gardeners and pharmacists as symbols of control and order.
I am currently molding these two symbols into my narrative painting. In the previous post Glass neck is a red giant who has been built by a pharmacist, through medicine to be big and strong. I am trying to describe the pharmacist through his influence on the world, how his medicine changes it and what it builds.
The gardener on the other hand has to keep nature in check maintain a balance.
I am trying to make these two figures represent control through creation of something unnatural (like medicine) and the creation of a controlled enviroment through destruction (gardening).
The pictures above are what has influenced my investigation into the Gardener and the pharmacist. I feel that the simple story present in these images carries the base ideas which i am going to develope through the Gardner and the Pharmacist.

These are some scans i made today of some of the sketches and ideas that i have been putting in my sketch pad. I am going to try and finish my body of work this year and exhibit it at the end of this year or perhaps early next year. I have finaly realised what i want the over all ruling concept of my work and thesis to be. I will tell you more once i have actually written my seminar paper and have made more work to illustrate the ideas i have been working on.

In In my recent paintings i have been playing around with nocturnal events and characters and contrasting these with the following days events, These paintings are about a head which spent it's night breaking trees and the discovery of the aftermath by a boy in a halloween costume. Inside the broken tree is a letter i am currently planing a follow up to that painting. The other painting with the boy in it shows a cluster of heads deformed by sunlight , during the day the heads shrink and become lethargic. They are primarily active at night and need rest during the day when night returns they resume their activities.
